I love football. As a teenager I sustained quite a few injuries playing football with the neighborhood guys. We had rules that the guys were two hand touch but girls could tackle. I was usually the only girl and loved throwing my tiny frame at the hulking guys to try and bring them to the ground. It felt powerful, exhilarating, and well, it was a good excuse for getting to touch cute boys! I still love football but I’m wiser, older and more breakable, so prefer to be the 12th man and watch from the sidelines (or the comfort of my living room).
Of course, you can’t watch football without great food. Here are a few of my personal favorite recipes for the Super Bowl along with links to other recipe round ups. Yes, you now have HUNDREDS of recipes at your fingertips!!!

I LOVE seven layer dip. Let me rephrase that. I’m so obsessed with seven layer dip that I’ve had dreams of swimming in a pool filled to the brim with seven layer dip, complete with a tortilla strip diving board! Yep, it’s that bad. Unfortunately, it’s not the healthiest of foods, so I typically only make it once a year; for a Super Bowl party. This year, I decided to try and renovate the basic seven layer dip to something a little bit healthier. Super Bowl snacks don’t have to be bad for you! This dip is made with fresh whole ingredients and just as satisfying as the high fat, high sodium version. Read more

Yesterday I promised a honey mustard dip that’s good for you, and today I deliver. I’ve become slightly addicted to Greek yogurt lately, and am discovering that it makes a great substitute for mayonnaise in a lot of recipes. This honey mustard dip is perfect for chicken wings, chicken tenders, or even fresh vegetable sticks, and you can eat it guilt free. Read more

Oh baby! I love chicken wings, and I’m always playing with new ways of making them but this time, I’ve really outdone myself. I decided to combine my three favorite kinds of chicken wings; buttermilk fried chicken, hot wings, and Asian wings. These crispy spicy chicken wings were such a success that I made them three days in a row to satisfy our continual craving for them! I know many of you have been searching for recipes for chicken wings to complete your Super Bowl menu, and you’ve come to the right place!!! Read more

Two weeks ago, before the madness of the ice storm, I promised you my favorite recipe for using homemade seafood stock. Today, I deliver! While my sister is definitely the risotto champion in the family, I love to make it on days like today when the weather is cold and dreary. The rich, creamy texture of this one pot meal brings comfort, while the tender asparagus and bright lemon zest carry promises of spring. Read more
