Finally, the long awaited day 3 recap of the Foodbuzz Food Blogger Festival in San Francisco. I had been waiting until I finished the video to post it and then got overwhelmed with the holidays and forgot about it. Here you go!

We had brunch at Restaurant Lulu, an excellent spread using Nature’s Pride bread in a lot of the dishes. The bacon was the most popular, and Jaden used hers to create a new signature cocktail, The Bacon Bloody Mary!

For this month’s 24, 24, 24 event I proposed preparing food for a big party using ingredients that were locally produced, grown, and made. Some ingredients I used were ones that I canned or froze over the summer months. But most of the ingredients were ones that I bought this week, and in season. It was a lot of fun talking with farmers and vendors about what’s in season during the cold month of December, and what’s available locally. Eric and I were getting pretty excited about being locavores, and are considering trying a month of only eating local because of the bounty of local food in Washington. I managed to take a LOT more photos on day two of the Foodbuzz Food Blogger Festival, and boy what an exciting day it was!

We started out at the Ferry Building again, this time for the GIGANTIC farmer’s market! It was pretty amazing, and I saw a fruit I’d never heard of, the Buddha’s Hand which is apparently similar to a lemon. According to wikipedia it is typically used in cooking for the zest because the pith is less bitter than a lemon.

Our Foodbuzz Food Blogger Festival started with a cocktail and pupu (those are appetizers for all of you not from Hawaii!) party out on the terrace of my hotel. I loved the bacon and cream filled gruyere gourgeres!

Foodbuzz and Visa group at Springhill
Being a Foodbuzz Featured Publisher definitely has its perks. We get free food in the mail to try, we get to participate in 24, 24, 24 events, and we get the occasional free dinner with other food bloggers. One of my favorite things about Foodbuzz is it’s not just an advertising company, it’s truly a community. E-mailing back and forth with the Foodbuzz employees is a lot like emailing back and forth with friends. So it was really exciting to get picked to attend the Foodbuzz and Visa Signature dinner at Springhill in Seattle, knowing that Alexa and Ryan (the girl) from Foodbuzz would be there. Read more
