Blackberry Apple Crumble Recipe

Eric has quite a sweet tooth, if I don’t make dessert every once in awhile, I’ll find out he’s eating donuts at work.  So I try to make healthy dessert recipes, or at least healthier than donuts.  The other week we checked out the new Russian grocery store in Auburn.  They had a big box of juicy blackberries for only $1!  Eric grabbed them excitedly and said, “You can make me dessert!” Read more

We’re Gonna Live in a Real House!

In the midst of recovering from the nastiest bronchitis ever, an opportunity came up that we knew we were supposed to take.  We got a house!  This is a good time to buy, and Eric and I realized we needed a bigger place than our tiny one bedroom apartment.  As we looked at 2 bedroom apartments, we figured out that they would cost as much or more than a mortgage.  It was time for the scary but exciting step of buying our first home.

It’s a fixer upper, so for the next month all our free time will be going into working on it.  You can see the work in progress posts on DianaEric.com (which Eric is starting to post on again, hooray!).  I’m super excited to plant some fruit trees and bushes, but that will probably have to wait until next year with how much we have to do to be able to move in.

While I’ve been sick we’ve been living off of meals I’ve frozen for later.  So thankful for that foresight!  Irish beef stew, chicken chilaquiles, seafood chowder, and taco soup have all been very present on our dinner table the past few weeks.  But I have the energy to cook again, so lots of tasty new recipes are coming back starting on Monday! See you then friends :)

Oh man friends, can you tell by my internet silence that life has been crazy?  After a couple visits to the hospital and over 10 varieties of medication, I’m finally recovering from the worst bronchitis I’ve ever had.  But in the midst of recoverin,g crazy things have been happening!  But this is a teaser post so I’ll post more on that later this week.  Anyway, the bottom line is…I’m back baby!

See those lovely photos of Korean Galbi or Kalbi Ribs?  My friend Bee (in this day and age you can be friends with someone you’ve only met online!) took these photos of my Kalbi and I got to guest post about them on her blog, the famous RasaMalaysia!  Make sure you check it out and then come back Thursday for my exciting news.

Irish Beef Stew Recipe for St. Patrick’s Day

My ethnic background is so mixed and confusing, that I tend to associate myself with Asian cultures since that’s what I grew up in.  But I know I’ve got some Scottish and English blood running through my veins, and I think I’m part Irish as well.  I’ve always felt a longing to visit Ireland, Guinness was the first beer I actually liked, and my iPod is full of Celtic tunes (a lot of which were played at our wedding).  One of my favorite ways to get in touch with my Irish roots, is the best beef stew on the planet. Ten Tips:How to Save Money on Groceries (and still eat healthy!)

I’m constantly asked for tips on how to save money on food.  I even had someone come up to me at church the other day asking if I could give them some pointers.  I get stoked when this happens because I know how much the things I’ve learned the hard way have helped me, and I love passing them on to others.  This is a little long, and I feel like I still left so much out, but here’s ten tips to saving money on groceries: Read more
